KHUDA GAWAH
Baadshah Khan falls in love with Benazir, a member of a rival clan who has defeated him in a game of buzkashi. Benazir will not marry him unless he brings back the head of her father's killer, Habibullah, from India. He is successful, but he must return to India. DEEWAAR-2004
After the 1970 India-Pakistan war, which gave birth to Bangla Desh, and the defeat and unconditional surrender of the Pakistani army, some 30 odd Indian soldiers were not released by the Pakistanis. In 2003, some 33 years after the war, tensions continue between the two countries, and both are at the verge of war. Indian politicians and army personnel are aware of the prisoners, but are unable to take any action, as doing so may jeopardize their lives. Human Rights groups are kept in the dark, and the prisoners are transferred to other locations, when the news of any such group gets to the prisons. When proof of his dad, Ranvir Kaul (Amitabh Bachchan) reaches Gaurang (Akshaye Khanna), he decides to travel to Pakistan to try and free his dad. Unkown to him, his dad has already tried to escape some 17 to 18 times, only to be captured, and brutally beaten by his captors. Gaurang is told that going to Pakistan is easy as entering a mouse-trap. Once you are in, you cannot get out, no matter how hard you try.

EK AJNABEE
Bangkok based Ravi Rathore lives a wealthy lifestyle and runs a business which he took over when he married Nikasha. They now have a school-going daughter, Anamika, and a failing business. In order to make up for his business losses, Ravi hires some men to kidnap Anamika, hold her for ransom, demand two million American dollars, and then release her. Ravi hires an elderly, alcoholic bodyguard named Suryaveer Singh, who dislikes crowds and children. He does warm up to the bubbly Anamika and both share a bond - which is broken when Anamika is kidnapped from her piano school, Surya is severely wounded, but does manage to shoot three abductors. He recovers in hospital, and is quite upset that he has failed in his job. Meanwhile Ravi is quite relieved that the kidnapping has gone according to plan, he does notify the police, and they set up a trap to apprehend the kidnappers. But then something goes terribly wrong, the police end up shooting and killing the men, who in turn kill Anamika. Surya, who is on his way home to India, cancels his trip, returns and starts asking questions, not knowing that he is going to unearth a web of deceit, lies and deception, which may only end when he uncovers the entire truth or die's trying.

Waqt is that rare Bollywood amalgam of top stars, a bunch of decent songs and wholesome entertainment. The film explores the close bond between a father Ishwarchand Thakur (Amitabh Bachchan) and his only son Aditya Thakur (Akshay Kumar). Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Aditya is pampered by his rich businessman dad Ishwar who denies him nothing despite the constant admonitions of his wife Sumi (Shefali Shah), who is concerned that the boy is turning into a wastrel without any sense of responsibilities. Even when Aditya gets married to Pooja (Priyanka Chopra) without informing his parents, Ishwar forgives the slight. But time is running out fast for Ishwar, who dying of lung cancer desperately yearns for just two things before he reaches his maker - to see his son become a more responsible person and to see his grandson. So Ishwar takes the drastic step of throwing Aditya and a pregnant Pooja out of the house hoping that the shock would instill a sense of responsibility in his son. However, the move while having the desired effect also causes a serious rift between father and son that widens and widens…….

With Deewar, this tall, dark and handsome man consolidated his position in the film industry and came to be called the 'angry young man'. The other actors in the film were Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi and Neetu Singh. Deewar is a story of the good versus the bad. Shashi Kapoor is the good police officer and Amitabh Bachchan the bad smuggler. As it always happens in Hindi films, good wins in the end. But Amitabh's dramatic death on his mother's lap, in the end of the film won the audience. The message was clear. He was not bad, circumstances were. Nirupa Roy became the quintessential mother with Deewar.

Released in 1982, Satte Pe Satta was a musical comedy in a truly commercial format. It was a clear drift from the Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee style of comedies that were subtler and had smaller budgets. Satte Pe Satta's cast included the stars of the decade: Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Amjad Khan, with an able supporting cast. The story revolves around seven brothers (Bachchan, Sudhir, Indrajeet, Kanwaljeet, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal and Sachin) who live in a farmhouse and are ignorant about the rest of the world. Filthy, ill-mannered and unsophisticated are words that would best describe them. They find love and support in the form of Hema Malini's character Indu who is Ravi's (Bachchan) lady love. After a lot of drama, the brothers accept her and, more importantly, she accepts them.

MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR
This melodramatic saga from director Prakash Mehra was a success on its release in 1978, due in large part to a passionate star turn from Amitabh Bachchan as the title character. Sikandar is an orphan, abused and abandoned at a young age, who finds work with a wealthy man and comfort in the friendship of his daughter Kaamna (Rakhee). Soon, however, he's falsely accused of stealing and thrown out of the house. Working hard, he eventually becomes successful and respected, but he never stops loving Kaamna--not even after a beautiful dancer named Zohra (Rekha) falls for him, making him the target of her lover's vengeful fury, or after Kaamna falls for Sikandra's best friend Vikas (Vinod Khanna). SHARAABI
Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and a peg of brandy instead of a glass milk, Vicky Kapoor, the only son of multi-millionaire industrialist, Amarnath, grows up to be an alcoholic, albeit with a good heart. Amarnath has detached himself completely from Vicky's life, and provides him money in lieu of affection and care, living this to be taken care off by Munshi Phoolchand. Vicky is very resentful of being ignored by his dad in this manner, and leaves no stone unturned to mock and belittle him at every available opportunity. Amarnath hopes to get his son married, but Vicky loves the daughter of a poor blind man, Meena, which is not acceptable to Amarnath. One day Amarnath decides he has had enough and decides to turn Vicky out of his house. He has him sign waivers, and asks him to get out, which Vicky does so. While Vicky is relieved of being freed from his dad's control, the question remains that with no skills at making a living, how is Vicky to survive in a cold-hearted world?

Bishen arranges a Mega show in a stadium where he launches Kishen as a singer. He is overwhelmingly appreciated by the audience. Besides all this there are some wicked persons like Kader Khan & Ranjeet who harasse Bishen to go insane. After this Kishen brings his friend to normalcy and destroys the villains. Amitabh Bachchan in a comic shade entertains a lot. The scenes like 'Kachha Papad Pakka Papad' are great. Bachchan's "Light" costume in the song "Saara zamana" became very popular.

Raja Azaad Singh rules over his people with compassion and fairness, and as result this region prospers. His wife, Durga, gives birth to a son, and there is considerable jubilation amongst his subjects. Then the British decide to take over his region, Azaad fights bravely, but he is outnumbered, both he and Durga are taken prisoner and made to work as slaves. Loyal subjects assist in getting their son out of the region, where he is adopted by a kind woman Jamuna and her husband. Years later, while Durga, who has lost the use of her vocal chords, and Azaad are still slaves, their son, now named Raju, drives a horse-carriage (tonga) with a horse named Badal and a loyal dog named Moti; woos a proud and snobbish Rajkumari named Ruby, the daughter of Britisher Dr. Harry. When the British find out about Raju's royal blood, they enmesh Azaad and him in web of lies of deceit, forcing them to a combat with each other in an open arena. Watch how father and son unknowingly fight each other, knowing fully well that only one of them will survive to tell this tale.

Amar Akbar Anthony is a 1977 Bollywood movie about three brothers separated in childhood who grow up in three different homes and adopt three different religions. The movie was directed by Manmohan Desai and starred three actors who were then major stars: Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. Each of the three heroes had a heroine: Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi and Neetu Singh. Nirupa Roy, Pran and Jeevan acted in supporting roles. The music was written by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Kishore Kumar sang for Amitabh Bachchan, while Mohammed Rafi sang for Rishi Kapoor. The soundtrack was one of Mukesh's last soundtracks with Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist.

MAHAAN
Vikram (Amjad Khan) is arrested for possession of drugs, but claims that he was framed by Rajan (Sujit Kumar), his associate, but no one believes him. Desperately he turns to his lawyer friend, Vikram, only to have himself prosecuted at his very hands. Vikram gets sentenced, and upon his release goes to Amit and asks him to negotiate to get him his share of their former business from Rajan. Amit agrees to do so, but the negotiation gets bitter, argument ensues, followed by fisticuffs and use of firearms, which lead to the death of Rajan. It is now Amit's turn to be on the run from the law, as his pleas that he acted in self-defense are ignored, and there is no one to turn to for help. Amit's pregnant wife, Janki, asks him to run away somewhere safe, while she re-locates to another city until his file is closed or set aside. Amit runs to nearby Nepal, while Janki gives birth to twins. Unfortunately, for her the twins and her get separated. She does manage to find Shankar, but there is no trace of Guru. With one son missing, her husband on the run from the law, and having to take care of an infant, how will Janki overcome life's odds on her own?

AJOOBA
The region of Bahristan is ruled by a kind and fair-minded Sultan, who lives there with his wife, Malika. There is considerable jubilation in the region when a son is born to Sultan, followed by several days of merry-making and celebration. But this does not last long, Vazir-e-alla decides to usurp the crown for himself, after abducting and imprisoning Amir Khan, a magician. The Sultan and his family manage to escape on a boat, but Vazir catches up to them, ensures that the family has drowned and returns triumphantly to Bahristan to continue with his worship of a steel demon he calls "Shaitan". All he needs is a sword which when struck through it's chest, will give it life. Vazir also gets an added boon - a beaded necklace that gives him immortality. Quite unknown to the Vazir, the Sultan has survived, albeit without any memory; Malika is also alive, though blind; also alive is the young Shehzada - who is now known as Ajooba - a wonder-man with supernatural powers to do good, and lives as an ordinary man named Ali. But even Ajooba, together with his friend, Hassan, are no match for an evil immortal Vazir, who has now succeeded in bringing the Shaitan to life, thus ensuring his rule over Bahristan forever.

ROTI KAPDA AUR MAKAN
After the retirement of his dad, the onus is on Bharat(Manoj kumar) to look after the Delhi-based family. He has two younger college-going brothers, Deepak and Vijay(Amitabh bachan), and a sister of marriage age, Radha. Bharat is a graduate, but is unable to secure any employment, much to the frustration of his girlfriend, Sheetal (zeenat aman). Vijay takes step to secure his own future, by turning to crime, which is strongly opposed by Bharat, and as a result Vijay leaves the house. Mohan is Sheetal's boss, and finds her very attractive. When he proposes marriage, she accepts, and soon both are married. This leaves Bharat devastated, unable to deal with life, and unable to afford the basic needs of Roti (food), Kapada (Clothing), and Makaan (Shelter), he must now decide to carry on honestly, or otherwise.

SHAAN
DSP Shiv Kumar (Sunil Dutt) is a diligent and honest police officer in Bombay, India. He lives with his wife (Raakhee), a son, and two wayward brothers, Ravi (Shashi Kapoor), and Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan), who are con-men, and will anything for a quick buck. When Shiv Kumar is killed, his wife widowed, Ravi and Vijay give up their waywardness, and non-chalant way of life, to find out who killed their brother, and avenge his death. Little do they know that the very forces that assist them now, will turn them in to the man who killed their brother - none other than the seemingly invincible.
